From the desk of Gary “Uncle G” Brown
Here’s something that I found in my Facebook memories, that I recently thought might be cool for my archival website.
I sometimes write stories for just my Facebook friends/followers. Not shared with the public. So really, only they saw this. Here it is, word for word. Right beforehand, please note. A sad update would be that author Anne Rice has died, since my writing this. I offer my sincere condolences, to her family, friends, those she worked with, and her fans worldwide.
The story itself is somewhat political. Donald Trump is mentioned. For the record, the man ended up becoming President of the United States. A huge accomplishment for anyone, one would think. My sincerest congrats to him! Never took a dime for the work, donating his Presidential salary to multiple charities, throughout the time he served. For those who now say that this isn’t true, it’s a matter of public record. It’s sad that I never see any of this mentioned that often by the mainstream press. Boggles the mind. Oh well. That was then. Nowadays, I see the beautiful building Donald Trump has here in Las Vegas, almost every day. It’s tall and shines beautifully in the desert sun. On a personal note, I liked the idea of a businessman going to Washington. It sounded like an old Jimmy Stewart movie. The reality was his term wasn’t your typical presidency. Frankly, it sure did have its moments. All that aside, I wish Mr. Trump well in his future endeavors.
In closing, we’re all different. To me, a president isn’t someone I have to be able to sit next to and drink a cold beer with. I don’t even have to personally like the person. All that is, leftish media bullshit! Fluff! Doesn’t matter. But I do have to believe that the person is fit to be commander-in-chief, and thus, do the job that they are required to do. For all its citizens, and not just the political party that they are affiliated with.

Uncle G’s FUN Stories
Today’s Story: Gary Brown Vs Anne Rice (A War of Words)
By Gary “Uncle G” Brown
So this just happened…
Found on author Anne Rice’s official Facebook Page.
Gary Brown: “I just unfollowed/unliked. When you go back to being a writer, and quit the Clinton love fest, let me know.”
Anne Rice: “I won’t be letting you know. I’ll be deleting and banning you with a short time. Those who announce they are “unfollowing” get my full support.”
Note: No typos in the way I re-typed her reply. That’s exactly how she replied. Word for word. Seems I pissed her off. The word “with” / within. Typo on her part. Must not be using a proofreader, for her FB posts. Unlike the ones, I’m sure she uses for her books.
What led up to this?
Day after day these long posts on what a wonderful person Hillary Clinton is. I was being honest. I followed/liked Anne because of her writing skills. Not because of her political beliefs. OMG! Am glad I won’t have her “I love Hillary” posts on my wall anymore. Oh, and she deleted my comments. In case anyone else got the same idea? Odds are she kept her word and banned/blocked me as well. I wanted to take a picture of all that expired. For memory’s sake. Some might say, akin to a trophy. Wasn’t there, last I looked. Clean up in aisle nine.
Politics
While on the subject. Congrats to Donald Trump. It’s refreshing to see a non-politician, get the best out of the ones who make politics their life-long career.
Congrats to Bernie Sanders. Yeah, he won’t win. Everyone knew that from the start; superdelegates. He can still make a big fuss at the Democratic convention. As can his supporters. The fact is, this is what the majority of normal everyday people who call themselves Democrats want. The real blue-collar. Even with being in politics for a few decades now, it’s hard to say he’s status quo. Off his website:
“Born in 1941, politician Bernie Sanders started out his political career as the mayor of Burlington, Vermont in the early ’80s. He served four terms as the leader of Vermont’s biggest city from 1981 to 1989. Sanders then moved on to the national political arena by winning a seat in the House of Representatives. From 1991 to 2007, he distinguished himself as one of the country’s few independent legislators. In 2007, Sanders won election to the U.S. Senate and was reelected in 2012. He announced his plans to run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2015.”
And I would have LOVED to see a Trump vs. Sanders debate. Those advising The Donald, are those to blame for it not happening. I understand. Still, wouldn’t have that not been fun?
Hillary Clinton
Yes, the woman has some accomplishments. But vote for her? Chelsea’s mom? Ugh! I voted for Annise Parker (Democrat) for Houston mayor years ago. And she was a good mayor. Did her job. Stayed out of the headlines, for the most part. I would vote against Texas Governor Rick Perry (Republican) at every given opportunity. So it isn’t that I’m incapable of voting for Mrs. Clinton … I just prefer not to. Way too much negative baggage. And not enough accomplishments when she was a Senator (January 3, 2001, to January 21, 2009) / Secretary of State (2009 – 2013). President Hillary Clinton? I just don’t see it.
One More Thing
I actually met Anne Rice, years ago. Way before we exchanged negative words, on Facebook. At a comic book convention in New Orleans. Was a pretty cool event! To meet Anne and get her autograph, one had to buy something from her merch table. Running out of money by the time I got to her table, I chose the cheapest thing there was; a comic book. Very affordable! And then just a little later, I snapped a photo of Ann and musician Michael Bruce with my camera, which the picture was later on used in the second edition of MB’s autobiography. I gave photo credit to my buddy Kevin Landreneau, who was with me at the event. The publisher when giving photo credit spelled Kevin’s last name wrong (bummer). I have a printout of the picture/negative somewhere. One day I’ll find and post. As for Anne Rice, I don’t hate the woman after our brief exchange today, but I sure did get under her skin.
