Today’s Celebrant: William James aka Ant-Bee

Anyone more than mildly interested in rock music in general, should know who William James is. Wait, let me correct that; Billy James. Wait…Ant-Bee. I believe that was the name I first heard Billy identified as when Michael Bruce (original Alice Cooper) started telling me stories about him. The two of them just came out with an auto-biography on MB; No More Mr Nice Guy – The Inside Story Of The Alice Cooper Group. More than that, they also created music together. Michael turned me onto Billy’s at the time, pretty new CD; Ant-Bee: Lunar Muzik (1997). Not only is Bother Bruceski on it, but it’s a pretty cool cast of rockers from days gone by. Not your usual rock album, but being a casual Frank Zappa fan, it’s wasn’t that far of a stretch. That and I’m fairly open-minded when it comes to music. Our favorite “Uncle G” gives it a five-star rating. It’s a wonderful CD. Long story short, Billy and I became friends but more so why because of our mutual liking of the band; Yes. That’s where we traded e-mails and packages. Many discussions about Jon Anderson and the rest of the gang. A mutual liking we still have today. Yes, ROCKS!

Now besides a musician, and recording studio wizard…wait…author…not only MB’s book but also on Grand Funk Railroad and Frank Zappa and The Mothers. Way more books than that. I read quite a few. All good reads and strongly recommended. I should come out and say Billy’s been cool and mentioned me in the THANKS part of some of these books, more than once. I got to help him out doing a couple/few projects over the years. Always a pleasure to do what I can.

To my many musician friends, if you need/want the best in promoting your latest project, look nowhere else; William James – Glass Onyon PR. William’s client list is a mile-long list of cool musicians/bands. I hate to drop names (cough-cough…Jon Anderson)…loads of information can be found on their respective websites. Billy’s a down-to-earth working man. Am glad to be able to call him a friend.

On a side note, I’m getting reports that my butt dials random phone numbers in my address book; oops. Billy…hope you’re not one of them 🙂
